Lean Construction

is the application of lean production and lean thinking to the construction environment. Eliminating waste, creating a steady flow of information and production, maximizing value are the core principles. Methods and new forms of contracting have been developed for construction. During day one of the congress these methods will be presented in the seminar “Introduction to Lean”.

Integrated Form of Agreement - IFOA

is a relational contract, which was developed in the USA to support the Lean Project Delivery System. Today the IFOA is used at several projects, mostly for hospital buildings in the private building sector. The IFOA strengthens relationships between project participants and encourages cooperation with the main opjective of strengthening the project as a whole.

Alliancing

is a cooperation model and contractual agreement to gather all partners and stakeholders in the project at an early stage with the purpose to optimize the project and to level interests. The Australian public clients do not want anything else, if large and complex projects are at hand - a success story. Day two of the event will outline principles and instruments of alliancing. The project examples are from the public sector/infrastructure.

Target Group

The event will gather clients and project managers, designers and planners, and construction firms. It addresses innovative lawyers and consultants, who - instead of helping to put up/defend claims and disputes - are interested and able to forge alliances. Participants will learn about the newest methods of Lean and Alliancing. They will learn from exemplary projects. They will be part of the world wide progress.
